Item variations give SignUpGenius organizers the power to create a single item with multiple associated options, like size, color, material, and more! Each variation can have its own unique price, quantity, photo, and/or SKU, all neatly bundled within one item. Clean, organized, and oh-so-easy for your payers to navigate!
Choose the Item with variations item type and follow these steps:
- Give your item a name
- Build you variations
- Create a "Variation name" (i.e., "Size").
- Create "options" for your payers to choose from (i.e., small, medium, large, etc.). Once you've added all available options, click the "Save Variation" button.
- Click the "Add a variation" button to add another variation for your item. Up to three variants may be added.
- As you add variation names and options, your item variations will populate a table with new fields for the organizer to complete, including "price" which is required and "quantity" which is optional. Complete these fields, either manually, or by using the bulk-action checkbox and drop-down menu, directly above the table.
- Click "Save."
Common questions
Can my item variations be free (have a price of $0)?
Yes. If you are using item variations to collect for something with no fee (such as volunteer sign-ups, etc.), this is a great way to do so. Simply enter "0" in the price field if your item variations have no cost.
Can I make item variation quantities visible to my payers?
Currently, you are not able to display the available quantity of individual item variations, unless of course, an item variation has a quantity of zero. When an item variation has a quantity of zero, the platform displays “sold out” for that variation. If you have added quantities for your variants, you'll see an optional setting to create a waitlist if the item sells out. Waitlist is a Team feature.
