Add a waiver to your collection
Take the following steps to add a waiver to your collection:
- Within Build > Forms, click “Add Form or Waiver”.
- Give your waiver a name.
- Add the "Waiver text field" element to your page and copy and paste the content for your waiver (i.e., policy text, permission slip text, etc.).
- Add the "Signature or Initials" element to your page. Give the signature field a label.
- Click “Save”.
Important!
Adding the Waiver text field and a signature field to your form make it a legally binding document. It will not be editable once submissions have been received.
The ESIGN Act is a federal law that grants electronic signatures the same legal weight as handwritten signatures, so not just any electronic signature field will suffice. SignUpGenius's waiver and esignature features incorporate the following features to comply with the ESIGN act:
